Anon cosplayed at Comiket 75. With the addition of YouFoundTheComic, maybe Anonymous can participate as a comic circle (get a table to sell comics from)?
If we're doing this, we need to move fast to get everything ready.
We can attempt to apply, but applying itself is no guarantee of entry. Thousands upon thousands of wannabe artists apply, and many are rejected.
IF we got lucky enough to get a spot, though, then we could go through with it. What we'd need is material to print. It doesn't have to be much, but at least a whole book or booklet filled with comics.
I'll look into getting an application started, then at least we can see if we can enter or not.
I know it's hard to get in - I wouldn't be surprised if we'd have to aim for Comiket 77 next winter.
We're marketing YouFoundTheComic online now and we already have hundreds of visits and a new contribution resulting.
How competitive are the comic circles? Would it be possible to solicit contributions to YouFoundTheComic from other comic circles? They wouldn't earn any money from that issue, but if they want to make money they are of course free to reprint their own pages in their own magazines for profit, since YouFoundTheComic only has a non-exclusive license to contributions. Or maybe they would like to draw something about Anonymous for their own magazines without contributing to YouFoundTheComic, which is fine too - and could you buy some copies for me if that happens :-)
I wouldn`t say they`re competitive, just insular and self-absorbed. If any of us individually made buddies with some other Doujin artists, then asked for contributions or help with distribution, it would work. But I think most people would respond to random requests from (foreign) strangers with `who the hell are you, and why should I care?`.
Experience teaches that personal, individual networking is the way to get things done here. Also, most comic circles specialize in drawing pr0n. Now, if we want an allegorical image of the public getting reamed by Scientology, where the public is a catgirl, and Scientology has over 9000 penises...

I think there would be a huge demand for Scientology themed celebrity porn doujins. It might not be eligible for YouFoundTheComic, but it would fit right in at Comiket.
The deadline for the Comiket application is February 24th, after checking it out in detail. My friend has agreed to help, not only with the application but also with translation of material. So we might not have /lots/ of material, but I think we can get enough together by August to be presentable.
This is a report to all members of the JapanAnon cell:
Thanks to the tireless efforts of one of our local contacts, we have successfully completed Operation Weaboo Festival: Stage One. Stage Two is currently underway. Although the chances for success here are slim, they are not impossible. If we can enter Stage Three, then there will be potential for extremely large amounts of Win and Lulz down the road.
All time and resources are now being directed towards the Operation. Should we succeed in entering Stage Three, all centralized protest activities will be suspended until further notice.
Fancy looking text explains that Volunteer Ministers spend money on proselytizing instead of actual relief efforts, connects them to Scientology, and then offers three alternative charities for people to donate to relief efforts in Haiti. The three c…
Any JapanAnons who are free in late February/early March, and potentially willing to travel on a weekend, contact me ASAP. This is something that will need at least one or two people besides myself to work. I don't want to say too much here in case…
Anon at the Winter Comic Market (C77)
Mini-YFTC Raid. Much more success than the last Comike appearance, with several pictures taken and cards handed out. A couple of locals had even heard of or remembered Anon from before. I call Huge Success.…
